Gay Roberto

Gay Roberto is a prolific fixture of his local scene, DJing coveted slots at parties, festivals and clubs across Naarm, around Australia and across the world for the last decade. He is known for top-shelf sets of timeless underground club music fully-loaded with forgotten favourites, hidden gems and beloved or instant classics. He crosses different genres and eras, but is particularly known for smooth, epic and underground House with a motif of ‘deep ’ and a splash of Techno where appropriate. Tasteful, subtle, a little emotional and definitely quite queer-coded. He’s known for a technical style of DJing that is subtle and immersive, with a gentle but highly skilled approach. This prowess is even more clear in his curation. His cache of music includes a wide range of luxurious, underrated discoveries, epic bangers, lots of hand-crafted edits and gorgeous unreleased originals in the style of face-melting retro/future prog-not-prog house-not-house. His sets are a bespoke moment of discovery, connection and freedom of expression. The passion is palpable and the love sure is loveable. You’ll find him DJing at TLS at Revolver Upstairs, Adam, E Club, Tasty, Hart, Barba,The Toff, Music Room, Unicorns and on Kiss FM and The Sound Gallery in Naarm as well as Kunst parties and 23 Music Room in Taipei and Folsom Festival in Berlin.
