As her label 1432 R might suggest, Joyce aims for a genre defying journey in all of her DJ sets. The 10 year old label has published 28 releases of experimental electronic with a wide ranging palette. A fresh and explorative hopefulness laces all of her work which has built a reputation for its dedication to authenticity with a surreal twist. Joyce has released her own productions through 1432 R but also Max D’s Future Times and, most recently, Ryan Elliott’s label Faith Beat. Expect her DJ sets to be reverent but playful, with far reaching influences that are just as comfortable in a heady deep listening session as they are in the early mornings of a warehouse rave. Joyce also curates Extended Family, a mix series from artists based in the DMV that includes not only DJs but journalists, record shop owners, party promoters, and activists. Local fans can find her experimenting at Dance Club, a LGBTQIA and BIPOC positive party celebrating Washington DC’s robust and experienced dance floors, a project that she’s founded with Baronhawk Poitier and Tommy C. Joyce Lim also helps organize the DMV focused electronic/punk/hardcore festival ZAP! Outdoorz alongside Carlie Webbert and Jake Abel. 1432 R prints small batches of vinyl records that are distributed by Rubadub in Glasgow, Scotland and available for digital streaming on all major platforms. The cinematic imprint has found critical acclaim from Resident Advisor, Pitchfork, Bandcamp, NPR, XLR8R, Fact, Truants blog, and many more since 2014.
