Sekitova

Raised on the sounds of Joey Beltram, Dave Angel, and other pioneers—quite literally exposed to electronic music even before birth—he stands as a true second-generation figure of the culture. Though rooted in techno, he draws influence from a wide spectrum of musical styles. Guided by the belief that “techno is not a genre, but an attitude toward music,” his DJ sets emphasize narrative flow and freely transcend rigid genre boundaries when necessary. His independently produced album, released in 2012, gained national attention in Japan, leading to appearances at clubs across the country as well as international festivals including Ultra Japan, EDC, Summer Sonic, Fuji Rock Festival, and Boiler Room. As a producer, SEKITOVA has continually demonstrated remarkable breadth. He collaborated with Soichi Terada on a split EP featuring Chisato Moritaka, whose work has been re-evaluated amid the city pop revival. He also produced a remix of “White Out,” the theme song for the film GODZILLA: Planet of the Monsters. In 2021, he contributed to the soundtrack for No More Heroes III on Nintendo Switch. His name was credited alongside Prins Thomas and Benjamin Fröhlich on Johanes Klingebiel’s For Now Remixes, where he delivered a BPM 140 breakbeat track that further expanded his sonic identity. In 2025, he reunited with Soichi Terada to release “Tinsagu Nu Hana (SEKITOVA Ecos De Solana).” Whether through his meticulous productions or his emotionally charged DJ sets, SEKITOVA creates spaces that allow audiences to confront and accept conflicting emotions in all their rawness. His work embodies a belief in the power of dance—as a uniquely human expression born from both instinct and intention—to affirm the beautiful contradictions that define us. http://soundcloud.com/sekitova https://www.instagram.com/sekitova/
