Find a show worth going to
A generic list of every show in your city this month isn’t discovery, it’s a calendar. SoundOff’s Discover tab is built to do the actual work of narrowing that down, using the one signal a ticketing app doesn’t have: the shows you’ve actually logged.
On the Home feed you’ll see a row of filter pills across the top: For You, Your Artists, Your Genres, Near You, and Music. For You blends your logged history with what’s coming up nearby, a genuine mix rather than a single rule. Your Artists shows new dates from people you’ve already seen or follow. Your Genres widens that out to the sounds you keep coming back to, even from artists you haven’t logged yet. Near You strips out the personalization and just shows what’s close, useful when you want the full local picture instead of a filtered one. Music is broader still, covering releases and artist activity alongside live dates.
The dedicated Events tab goes deeper on the “am I going” decision. Open an event and RSVP Going or Maybe, whichever fits. Either one puts the show on your radar and, if friends on SoundOff are logged in the same city, shows you who else might be there. That’s often the deciding factor: a show you were on the fence about gets a lot more appealing once you see three friends already marked Going.
Found something you’re excited about before you’ve even bought a ticket? Share it straight from the event to your social channels (Instagram, TikTok, Snap, etc.), a quick way to tell your crew you’re in without a screenshot and a caption.
Worth knowing if you’re new to Discover: the pills aren’t a one-time setting you configure once and forget. Your For You picks shift as your journal grows, so a Discover tab that feels generic in your first week usually sharpens up fast once you’ve logged even a handful of shows. If the picks still feel off after that, check Your Artists and Your Genres directly, sometimes the fix is as simple as following a few more artists so SoundOff has more to work with.
Maybe RSVPs deserve a mention too, since they’re easy to under-use. Marking Maybe instead of skipping a show entirely keeps it visible on your radar and lets friends see you’re considering it, which is often what tips a loose plan into an actual one. You can always upgrade a Maybe to a Going later, no need to commit up front.
The last step is the one people skip and shouldn’t: after the show, that RSVP becomes the fastest path to a log. SoundOff already has the artist, venue, and date from when you said you were going, so closing the loop takes one tap instead of a fresh search. Discovery and your journal aren’t separate tools here.
